Fly Fishing IS LIFE
I grew up in Germany fishing for native brown trout, grayling, pike, and other species. What started as a passion turned into a journey around the world in search of great fishing. My passion for fishing never left me — it only grew. When I came to Taupō, I discovered world-class fishing set against New Zealand’s wild beauty, and I never left. I’ve now spent over nine years fishing the rivers and lakes of the region.

MEET LUMO
Lumo is my four-legged co-guide who occasionally joins me on the river. He loves being out on the water, whether riding in the boat or hanging out along the riverbank. He’s friendly, calm, and well used to long days outdoors. If guests are happy to have him along, Lumo can join the day — but he’s not always on trips, so dog-free days are just as normal. For those who enjoy dogs, he’s always keen for a day on the water.
